Time-skipping all the way to the year 2202, it's certainly the most ambitious book in terms of sheer scope in this deeply satisfying series. In this book the character’s thought process feels so relatable. Strongly recommended. In this, the fifth volume of Mark Hodder’s steampunk alternative timeline, Sir Richard Francis Burton and poet Algernon Swinburne are faced with a sad dilemma. It also seems like the author inserted randomly interspersed fight scenes with demons for the sake of adding more action scenes; I like action-packed stories but I prefer fight scenes that are linked to the actual plot.The MCs are one-dimensional and the romance falls flat. I think this book is necessary for anyone who wants to study Ergodic Theory: you can find in it all the fundamental elements.Just notice that it requires a good mathematical skill. I heard about this book during a radio interview with Laura on my way home and I thought it sounded like so much fun my partner might actually give it a try. If you value the quality of your life, a dry pair of pants, and a reliable "woody" from time to time, give this book a read.
