On the other hand, the book lacks the breezy, often humorous, tone of Alan Ryan's biography. If you teach physical science and the concepts of work/motion, this book will compliment your teaching. This is the kind of error that can irreversibly damage your credibility and that of the book. The issue here is how obvious the bias is. This was the only book that I've read that did a good job of explaining the concepts and ramifications of problem convexity. Jay Martin has accomplished a monumental task in his efforts to uncover the true natures of John Dewey and his colorful life. The names of the dragons are simply wonderful -- Beelzebub, Ching-Chung, Jebediah Jones, Pythagorus.I would recommend this book for bright pre-schoolers and for all kids who demand more than picture books! It's a great read for child and for parent. It's definitely worth the wait (out of print)!. Obviously the tones and hues and whatever may not be perfect but it'll be in the general area. Both of my daughters (10yr old & 7yr old) think this journal is very cool and I like that it appeals to their creative side and gets them writing.. Very inspirational and educational.
